The hero heeds a call to adventure, leaves home, gets lost, fights dragons, meets a wizard, falls in love, fights a great battle, returns home as the hero… or something like that. But, have you heard of the Heroine’s Journey? The call to adventure starts in the interior castle… within.

If you’ve been feeling like you’re searching for something and trying to find it everywhere else but within, this might be for you. If you’re already on the journey of the heart and soul, this one’s a reminder to keep going. Rewild those inner most parts and reclaim your own story.

Victoria Loorz is an eco-spiritual director and cofounder of the Wild Church Network and Seminary of the Wild. She's the winner of the Living Now Book Award with her beautifully written book titled "Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred".

In our conversation she shares her journey through church, activism, spirituality and contemplative encounters with the sacred in nature. After two decades of pastoring church indoors, she began to feel the nudge to meet others in the great expansive outdoors, launching the first Church of the Wild, in Ojai CA.

Episode 6 | Keith Giles on Transformation, Creativity and Divine Knowing

Today's guest is no stranger to change and transformation - he has walked many people through it with patience and grace and certainly faced it himself.

Keith Giles is an author, podcaster and co-owner of Quoir Publishing. He's also a former pastor who left the pulpit to start a house church where no one was paid and 100% of funds were given to help those in need within their community.

He has been a published writer since 1989 and has written several books, including the 7 part "Jesus Un" series where he challenges widely held beliefs within Christianity.

I often talk about the aliveness of being human. The joy, the wonder, the creation and the vastness of our precious experience here on earth. But part of our aliveness is also embracing the pain, grief and loneliness. I think one of the hardest things about being human just may be our solitary suffering. We are collectively going through so much at this present time in history, so much collective suffering, but no one lives inside the home of your soul, but you.

Join me for a contemplative practice inspired by Rumi's poem, "The Guest House".

With interest in ecofeminism, contemplative practice, and social change, Shannon leads workshops and retreats across the country that spark curiosity and compassion. She has partnered with the Jesuits of Canada and the U.S. and is a frequent contributor to Franciscan Media.

Having previously lived in Indonesia for two years, Shannon loves to travel, but is happiest at home on the Iowa prairie with her family and beloved chickens.
